New Campus wins National Gold Award

Thw contractor responsible for the work creating the new Habberley Learning Campus, Speller Metcalfe, has won a prestigious Gold Award at the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s 2015 National Site Awards.

The new campus, in Habberley Road, Kidderminster, brings together two schools that specialise in learning difficulties and disabilities, to share a campus alongside Baxter College and St John's Primary School.

The annual awards, run by the scheme, recognise the highest levels of consideration and care shown by construction sites throughout the UK towards their local neighbourhood, the general public, their workforce and the environment. Only 98 UK sites achieved the gold standard this year from more than 9,000, making this site’s achievement particularly significant.

 Fitting of cedar fascia's, barge boards and window cheeks are complete, remedial works to do.
 Decorations are continuing including snag items.
 Gutter fixing is to complete.
Carpentry finishing items are continuing including snag items.
 Laying of vinyl floor covering and carpets are continuing.
 General external works continuing, including tarmacing.
 Data installation progressing.
 Generally all trades are progressing towards practical completion.

Vocational Hub Phase 1 Handover

The first phase of the Vocational Hub was handed over on Friday 30 January. This provides Food Technology/ Catering, Café, IT,  DT and Art facilities for the Wyre Forest School. The Vocational Hub is the refurbishment of a 1960s building on the Baxter College site, but now adjacent to the new (nearly complete) Wyre Forest School and fronting onto Campus Square.
